About the Facilitators
Name : Peter Kelbassa - Senior Safety Consultant Trainer / Assessor and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Peter Kelbassa has just returned after thirty years on Mainland Australia to live and work in Tasmania as an WHS consultant and Trainer assessor for SafeGuard OH&S Solutions.
Peter has extensive experience in the building and construction industry. He completed his trade in carpentry and joinery in Launceston before moving to the mainland to serve with the ADF. After his service with the ADF, Peter continued in the building industry until the mid-90s.
Peter joined the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and shortly after the Queensland Ambulance Service with this on road experience in emergency services Peter developed the passion for safety and training and is a strong advocate for being proactive in this field.
Peter has worked over the last ten years as a site paramedic, Safety advisor and Trainer assessor on a range of mining and construction sites and gas fields across central Queensland and NSW.
Name : John Perkins - Consultant
Duties : Training & Development, Mentoring, Risk Management, Project Management, Contract & Tender Management
John facilitates all SafeGuard OH&S training courses
John Perkins has an extensive and broad practical background supported by formal qualifications in engineering, business, training extensive and varied experiences in the areas of local government, health, power and safety. At corporate level, management and supervisory levels he has generation, communications, manufacturing, processing, mining and heavy industry.
It is this experience that allows John to conduct training courses to a high degree of professionalism and engage participants to maximise learning outcomes.
